Most of us know the wonderful care The Royal Children’s Hospital provides children across Australia. Perhaps someone in your school community has been a patient.
Fundraising is a great way for schools, kindergartens and child care centres to show support.
We’ve provided some ideas below to get your school started – the sky’s the limit!
Fly for the Kids
Associate Professor Andrew Kornberg, a doctor from The Royal Children’s Hospital, is flying solo around Australia to raise money for the Good Friday Appeal.
Andrew is stopping off on the way to visit his previous patients. We’d love your school to hold a Fly for the Kids day to celebrate Andrew’s journey.
We can’t think of a better way to spend the day
than in our PJs raising money to help the children in The Royal Children’s Hospital care.
Students and teachers are encouraged to come to school dressed in their favourite pyjamas and bring in a gold coin to donate to the Good Friday Appeal.
Coin line competitions
Schools around Victoria hold friendly competitions to see which school house can create the longest coin line using silver and gold coins.
Raid the piggy bank and see which house wins!
Create your own event
We’ve had bake sales to crazy hair days, we even had a school fill a bus with balloons to guess the number.
There are many weird and wacky ways for schools to get involved. Need an idea?
A great way to get students’ family and friends involved is requesting 2017 Good Friday Appeal donation envelopes.
We can supply every child at your school with an envelope in early March 2017 for students to ask for donations from their family and friends.
Please let us know about your fundraising and we can provide you with a media kit, sample press release, proudly supporting logos, photos and videos you can use, as well as posters and bunting.
