Royal Children’s Hospital patient, Jax Newling helped unveil the Herald Sun Premiership Posters at the MCG on Thursday.
Five year old Jax has been a patient of The Royal Children’s Hospital since he was only two days old. Born with bilateral vocal cord paralysis, he required a tracheostomy to help him breath.
Jax is due to have his eighth surgery this year, where his surgeon is planning to suture the back part of his vocal cord in hopes of Jax becoming tracheostomy free.
His mum Nicola had a milder related condition as a child and both mum and son were treated by the same specialist at the RCH.
Wearing his Torquay Tigers footy jumper, Jax favoured the Tigers poster over the Crows.
The winning team’s poster is available straight after the siren at the MCG or online, with the proceeds going to the Good Friday Appeal. For more information on where to purchase the posters click here.
