Telstra Celebrates 80 Years!
In 2025 Telstra is celebrating 80 years of powering the phone room.
For 80 years, Telstra has played an essential role in making the Good Friday Appeal possible. From its early days in 1945 as our generous telecommunications partner to today’s state-of-the-art phone room, Telstra has helped connect donors with volunteers, ensuring thousands of donations are received each year.
The Good Friday Appeal Phone Room, powered by Telstra, is a one-day contact centre where dedicated volunteers answer calls from generous Australians who want to donate. Last year alone, the phone room received 7,138 calls, with a peak of over 1,500 calls at 7:30 pm, helping raise over $1.2 million on the day!
For many, calling 1300 APPEAL is more than just making a donation – it’s a tradition, a moment of connection. Telstra supports our volunteers in answering calls, processing donations, and creating opportunities for donors to be part of something that connects the community.
Beyond the phone room, Telstra’s support extends even further – providing incredible behind-the-scenes work in the lead-up to the event, ensuring smooth operations on the day, and continuing to support us post-event. They also generously provide a prize for the Good Friday Appeal Raffle, helping to drive even more fundraising.
Telstra Marks 80 Years of Connection and Care with the Good Friday Appeal
For eight decades, Telstra has not only powered our phone room but has also driven awareness and fundraising efforts, leveraging its technological advancements and passionate workforce to foster an incredible community spirit.
The Good Friday Appeal team extends our thanks to Telstra for their support over the past 80 years. Here’s to continuing this incredible partnership for many years to come!
